Senator George H. Winner, R-Elmira, and state Assemblyman James Bacalles, R-Corning, recently met with member of the emergency health care community to be briefed on the Rural Health Community Systems, Inc. “10,000 Links in the Chain of Survival” campaign.

Middle School Students Learn CPR
Dana L. Lyon Middle School students Connor Strong, Marie Smith and Bailee Smalt practice hands-only CPR during a 10,000 Links in the Chain of Survival class from Rural Health Community Systems, Inc. Paramedic Art Jones and EMT Char Silliman facilitated health classes for sixth and seventh graders with the use of mini-Ann manikins. "I enjoyed helping the manikin, and it was fun to know how to help others," said Smith. The 10,000 Links program has taught CPR to 2,616 people so far this year as part of their goal to train 10,000 Steuben County residents over three years.
